| 2008-2009 Rotaract Elections:
Nominations! The time has come to create the new 2008-2009 Rotaract Board! There will be nominations and voting for the four (4) elected positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Are you looking for an opportunity to explore your leadership qualities? Start thinking about where you will fit in on the 2008-2009 board. Nominations for these positions will be presented at our next meeting May 6th and elections will take place at the following meeting on May 20th, so please make sure to attend both meetings. Once these four are elected, they will build the rest of their supporting board. Current board members will then mentor each new board in advance to create a smooth transition. You are welcome to approach the person who is currently in whatever Board position(s) you're interested. We appreciate your interest and excitement. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask Aaron or any member of our current or past boards. |

| April Dues Are Due! It is that time of year again... Current Rotaract members, the semi-annual dues are $30. Membership dues help cover administrative costs as well as subsidize the many community service and social events Rotaract supports throughout the year. These events include the Rancho Jireh Picnic, the ice cream social and bingo at the senior center, as well as many more. For new members, once you have completed your membership requirements, there is a one time initiation fee of $28. This fee goes towards a snazzy Rotaract t-shirt, pin, and certificate. In addition, new members will also need to pay the $30 for semi-annual dues. The total amount for a new member is $58. You can pay your dues by attending a general meeting and giving a check or cash to the Treasurer, Steve Goodall. You can also pay with your credit card or bank account through PayPal. |

| Rotaract & Rotary Trivia How many women are Rotary members today? Reflecting society in 1905, the organization had been limited to male members and remained so officially until 1989, when the Council on Legislation, Rotary's parliament, voted to eliminate the male-only provision, opening up membership to qualified women across the world. Today, 1.2 million Rotarians belong to some 31,000 Rotary clubs in 166 countries. Of these, approximately 90,000 are women, many of them serving in leadership roles. |
