March Community Service: Rotaract Walks for Water

March 22 (Saturday)
7:00 am departure, event: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
Santa Monica Pier – 350 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401

Join Rotaract, Project Concern International (PCI), Ethos Water (Starbucks), and other non-governmental organizations to promote Walks for Water, which are inspired by the journey women and children in water-stressed countries make each day to obtain clean water for their families.

The 2-3 mile walk in Santa Monica – where we will hopefully meet up with Rotaractors from L.A. – will be accompanied by speakers, a rally, and organization involvement to raise awareness about the plight of many people in our world who struggle to survive with limited clean water resources.

Carpooling and the sharing of gas money is encouraged! Expect to leave San Diego no later than 7:00 am. The event takes place from 9:00 am - 11:30 am.

Since participants will walk on behalf of both Rotaract and PCI, volunteers will be given snazzy black and white PCI baseball hats and are encouraged to wear our cool Rotaract t-shirts!

Water sanitation and awareness is one of Rotary's key worldwide initiatives! This is a great way to get involved in a Rotary and international campaign!

Please contact Jess Ross with any questions. 858.279.9690 ext. 324

For more information, please check out the World Water Day website and go to the Project Concern website.

Rotaract & Rotary Trivia

Why should a Rotary club sponsor a Rotaract club?

Organizing a Rotaract club is one of the most rewarding community activities a Rotary club can undertake. The Rotaract program gives Rotarians the opportunity to mentor dynamic young men and women who want to provide service in their local and global communities. Rotarians also will serve as resources for Rotaractors who will become tomorrow's parents, business professionals, and community leaders. In turn, a Rotaract club can bring new energy to a Rotary club, inspire fresh ideas for service, increase support to projects, and spread knowledge of Rotary to other sectors of the community. Rotaractors, with the experience they gain through this Rotary program, make exceptional future Rotarians.
