New Year WOW! – How to Make Resolutions stick for a Great 2008
Do your well intentioned and desperately needed New Years Resolutions fall by the wayside? Do you find it difficult to break old unhealthy habits and start anew? Are there things you want to accomplish this next year that could catapult you to higher levels of success, happiness and fulfillment? Do you want a sure fire way to set your sights on a goal and accomplish it every time?
In this session we will explore the science behind human behavior and why it is so difficult to change our habits. You will leave this session with both the knowledge and a plan of action to make 2008 your best year yet.

About Michael Bruce

Michael Bruce, "That WOW Guy", is an idealist, a dreamer, a visionary, a trusted advisor, a passionate and driven pursuer of excellence and a believer in people's highest potential. He is energetic, creative, inspiring and ignites the fire in those he comes in contact with acting as a catalyst for the changes that bring people to their excellence.

For over 22 years, Michael has studied the art and science of human potential, success and fulfillment. A life long learner, Michael has received countless hours of training in leadership, management, communications, coaching and performance management. His education includes theories of psychology, personality theory, communication, adult development, organizational systems, social psychology, family system dynamics, humanistic psychology, cognitive behavioral techniques and emotional intelligence.

First, as a decorated naval officer and veteran of several highly sensitive national defense missions, and then in senior management positions in both the highly competitive Biotech and High Tech telecommunications industries, Michael has come to understand what it takes to excel in highly stressful, continuously changing and extremely competitive environments. Michael has an abundance of practical experience effectively coaching, motivating and inspiring others in pursuit of both professional and personal.

Ambassadorial Scholarships

The Rotary Foundation's oldest and best-known program is Ambassadorial Scholarships. Since 1947 more than 30,000 men and women from 100 nations have studied abroad under its auspices. Today it is the world's largest privately funded international scholarships program. More than 1,100 scholarships were awarded for study in 2002-03. Through grants totaling approximately US$26 million, recipients from some 69 countries studied in more than 64 nations.

The purpose of the Ambassadorial Scholarships program is to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. The program sponsors several types of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as for qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies. While abroad, scholars serve as ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country and give presentations about their homelands to Rotary clubs and other groups. Upon returning home, scholars share with Rotarians and others the experiences that led to greater understanding of their host countries.

Generous contributions from Rotarians worldwide represent continued faith that the students who are Ambassadorial Scholars today will be tomorrow's community and world leaders.
