| Guest Speaker Tonight: Ian Lesser from One
Acre Fund December 04 (Tuesday) 6:30 pm Kansas City BBQ, 610 W. Market Street, Downtown San Diego Ian Lesser will come to our meeting and speak about his efforts with the One Acre Fund. One Acre Fund is a 5013(c) organization designed to address chronic hunger in Africa by developing sustainable agriculture and sustainable communities. They are pioneering a tiny investment package that will enable farm families to grow their own way out of hunger, permanently instead of providing hand outs of meals one at a time. Last year this program reached over 550 farmers and Ian is the program manager for the Kakamega branch of the organization where they have plans to work with up to 1200 farmers. Ian Lesser can provide further info about the project if you are interested. He can also provide our club with perspective about this issue in Kenya and elsewhere, he can also speak to what it is like living and working for a non-profit in Africa. He grew up in San Diego and his perspective is unique and likely very compelling for a group like ours. |

| Rotaract & Rotary Trivia What is Interact? Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people age 14-18. Interact Clubs can either be school or community based and are required to carry out at least two service projects annually, one that serves their school or community and another that furthers international understanding. Although each club is sponsored by a local Rotary club whose members offer guidance, Interact clubs are responsible for planning, financing, organizing, and executing their own projects. |
