With Jazz less than a month away, we need everyone's help to make the event a sucess. There are many tasks we need help with to pull everything off and make this event the best is has ever been! We need volunteers from the club to help promote our upcoming event by attending various Rotary Meetings in San Diego and spreading the word. If you would like to help, please contact Amanda. We need volunteers to help out the night of the event, sign up sheets will circulate at our next two meetings. After each of the next two meetings, we will be handing out fliers for Jazz to the Downtown area. Please stick around for a few minutes to help publicize the event! We are busy collecting donations from local vendors for our raffle and silent auction. Please continue your efforts with collections donations as well. Any donation is welcome! Lastly, please help to promote the event by communicating with your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors! If you would like to sell paper tickets, please contact Amanda. Eblasts will continue to be sent out and tickets are available on our website via PayPal. Thank you to everyone for your support with this event! Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes is closer than you think! We have pinned down the following details to make this event the best this club has ever produced: Jazz for JDRF, December 1st, 2007, 6-9 PM, The MINUS 1 Lounge at the Keating Hotel, 432 F Street, Live Jazz Music Featuring the Elliott Lawrence Trio.Tickets will be sale at meetings but also through the website via PayPal. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 the week of the event. Our Beneficiary: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation. We are looking forward to a great event in an exciting venue with great food, live music, and friends!

| Rotaract & Rotary Trivia What is the official Rotary International emblem? The symbol of Rotary has been a wheel since its earliest days. The first design was a simple wagon wheel, which was said to illustrate "civilization and movement". Over the years, this design developed into the present gear wheel with 24 cogs, 6 spokes and a "keyway" in the center of the gear.
