Toussaint Academy

Official November Community Service Event!

We'll be having a Thanksgiving Potluck at the Toussaint Academy of the Arts and Sciences (TAAS) on Tuesday, November 13th at 6:30 pm. Everyone needs to bring a dish and please bring enough, because we have 22 teens and 10-20 Rotaractors. Please show up a little early if you need to set up your dish.

Toussaint Academy of the Arts and Sciences (TAAS) is a licensed group home that serves homeless youth in San Diego County ages 14 to 17. Since 1992, the Toussaint Academy (formerly the Toussaint Teen Center) has strived to provide its residents with a comprehensive array of services needed to help them grow into healthy and successful adults. This innovative new program, which combines traditional education with a curriculum rich in the arts and sciences, is the first of its kind serving homeless youth in San Diego County.

Look for an evite by the next meeting and call Dean Koci with any questions at 619-991-4088.

J4JD 2007 - Flyer

Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes is closer than you think! We have pinned down the following details to make this event the best this club has ever produced: Jazz for JDRF, December 1st, 2007, 6-9 PM, The MINUS 1 Lounge at the Keating Hotel, 432 F Street, Live Jazz Music Featuring the Elliott Lawrence Trio.Tickets will be sale at meetings but also through the website via PayPal. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 the week of the event.

Our Beneficiary: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.

We need everyone's support to make this event run without a hitch. Anyone who would like to help with donations for our raffle and silent auction are encouraged to do so.

Please contact Renata Kilby for donation information.
If there are any general questions, please contact Amanda Scott, Fundraising Chair.

We are looking forward to a great event in an exciting venue with great food, live music, and friends!
Dues Are Due!

It is that time of year again...

Current Rotaract members,
The semi-annual dues are $30. The dues go to help subsidize the many community service and social events that occur throughout the year. These events include the Rancho Jireh Picnic, the ice cream social and bingo at the senior center, as well as many more.

For new members, once you have completed your membership requirements, there is a one time initiation fee of $28. This fee goes towards a snazzy Rotaract t-shirt, pin, and certificate. In addition, new members will also need to pay the $30 for semi-annual dues. The total amount for a new member is $58.

You can pay your dues by attending a general meeting and giving a check or cash to the Treasurer, Steve Goodall. You can also pay with your credit card or bank account through PayPal.
