Community Service Opportunity with the Downtown Breakfast Rotary

September 15 (Saturday)
11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Potiker Family Center, 14th Street & K Street

If you are looking for a community service event to partcipate in this month and are unable to make our Club sponsored event, Rancho Jirah Picnic, then consider the following event at the Potiker Family Center. This project will be in conjunction with the Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club on September 15th from 11 am to 3 pm.

We will be refurbishing the 5th floor patio with new pots and plants and (maybe) new out door cushions. We'll celebrate with a BBQ from 1:30 pm to 3 pm on the 1st floor patio. Our Downtown Rotaract Club donated the BBQ to the Family Center and this project will be a great opportunity to work with the Rotarians and enjoy helping the seniors at the Family Center.

The Potiker Family Senior Community Center is located at 14th & K street.
If you are interested or have any questions please send an email to either Dean Koci or Jeff Haskin. We will keep Rotary up-to-date of our attendance.
Annual Rancho Jireh Picnic

September 22 (Saturday)

Come help host our annual Picnic for Rancho Jireh Foster Families. Lunch will be donated by KC BBQ. Volunteers should be there at 10:00 am to help set up.

E-mail Dean Koci to volunteer to run a children's activity.

If you don't know where De Anza Cove is located, take a look at this map.
Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes 2007: Looking for Donations and Raffle Prizes

Our annual event is just around the corner! To make Jazz a success again and bigger than ever, we need donations for our raffle prizes and silent auction. This is your chance to bolster your professional contacts and be a leader in our event by asking companies for donations, such as gift certificates and swag.

Contact Amanda Scott, Fundraising Chair, if you want to help. Details coming.
Professional Development: Looking For Ideas

Our Professional Development Chair James would like your ideas and your input:

Who would you like to see as our guest speaker in the future?
Which topics and/or ideas would
you like to hear more about at one of our meetings?

If you have recommendations for a guest speaker, please include the following information:
name
phone number
Why / how do you know them?
What do they do that is admirable?
How would them talking to us be beneficial to our group?

Please try to stay away from any type of sales presentation. We are only looking for professional and personal development topics and subjects.

If you have suggestions for guest speakers or professional / personal development topics, please send an e-mail to James Holland.
Entertainment Books

In an effort to boost our fundraising efforts for Tijuana Home Building, we are looking at new fundraising opportunities. We are exploring selling Entertainment Books as the revenue per book for our club is very high. The books are $40 and nearly 50% of that is a return to the club.

If anyone is interested in selling or purchasing books, please contact Amanda Scott, Fundraising Chair, 619-708-2295.
