Save the Date: Garage Sale & BBQ for a Good

Don't
miss the first community service event of the new year! Saturday, August 18th.
Rotaract is going to be holding a garage sale and BBQ to raise money for Dean's
Neighor Tony who back in April broke his neck. The money will go towards
helping with the cost of equipment and recovery. So bring your old items to
sell, come buy items, or come buy some food.

turned into an official Rotaract event?

Imperial Avenue Commercial District Revitalization
Project August 04 (Saturday) 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Logan Heights
Area Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and take action for the community
once again? Rebuilding Together
San Diego, Channel 10, and Councilman Ben Hueso are spearheading an
Imperial Avenue Commercial District Revitalization Project on Saturday August
4th, 2007 from 8am to 5pm (Logan Heights Area). If you'd like to volunteer to
paint houses and storefronts, landscape, and clean up debris and graffiti
throughout the target area the day of the event, please sign-up ASAP. Without
you Rebuilding Together would be unable to continue their renovation efforts in
the community, revitalizing homes, neighborhoods and lives. Thank you for your
considering vesting your time into volunteering with RTSD.

Society:
Annual "Make your Pet a Pin-Up" Calendar Contest Deadline:
August 16 (Thursday) Don't let your pet miss out on being a star! The San
Diego Humane Society's annual "Make your Pet a Pin-Up"
Calendar
Contest is well underway and 12 lucky pets will be chosen to represent each
month. Runners-up will be included in smaller photos within the calendar
portion of each month's page, and all photos submitted will be included in the
"Best Friends Collage" pages. All entrants will receive a complimentary 2008
calendar! Hurry, time is running out! The submission deadline is August 16th,
2007. You can mail in your photo or submit your image online. Entry is only $25
per photo, and your donation goes towards helping the San Diego Humane
Society's animals find good homes as well as helping them to provide vital
community services.

Seminar September 08 (Saturday) 7:00 am - ... Salk
Institute Please join your fellow Rotarians for breakfast at this beautiful
venue to celebrate and learn more about our many valuable projects making a
difference in the lives of people worldwide. Attend the annual District 5340
Foundation Seminar, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Salk Institute. Our
district is known for the amazing things we have accomplished all over the
world! This is a great program for red badgers and new Rotarians to attend.
Check in and breakfast at 7 am, program begins at 8 am. We are fortunate to
have PDG and Regional Rotary Foundation Chair Nick Phillips of District 9270,
South Africa, as the featured speaker. Nick will talk about the AIDS Orphans
Relief Project. More details and registration on

with lots of downtime and fun time. House includes 2 spacious living rooms,
