July Social:
San Diego Symphony Summer Pops Series – Marvin at the Movies

July 28 (Saturday)
7:00 pm at Kansas City BBQ for food/drink, then walk over for 7:30 pm start

Our July Social: San Diego Symphony Summer Pops Series – Marvin at the Movies. With summer here we can sit out under the stars on Marina Park North peninsula and hear the show. The show is technically on the Marina Park South peninsula, but for this one we go and hang out on the other side. There will be Oscar winner Marvin Hamlisch playing some of his favorite movie music, from Gone With The Wind to The Way We Were.

If you are running late, meet us at the Marina Park North peninsula by taking the Embarcadero footpath which runs by the Manchester Hyatt and Seaport Village. If you have gotten to the Marriot Marina or the Convention Center, you have gone too far. The actual Summer Pops site is just behind the Convention Center by the Bay, on the Marina Park South peninsula. Please carpool there since parking will be tight.

Bring a blanket/chair and a jacket in case it gets cold. If people feel up to it, we can go out after. The show should be done around 10 pm.

You can check out the complete Summer Pops schedule by clicking here. The Broadway Rocks show with selections from Wicked, Rent, The Lion King, Tommy and Phantom of the Opera is on 8/3 and 8/4 at 7:30 pm. Seats are $20 and up.

If you have any questions, are running late, lost, or want to know if people are going out afterwards, call the social chair Ryan Crawford at 262-331-3587.
