Whom Should Rotaract Help?

The master calendar for the year is filling up quickly! Do you have a charity or cause that you want to see turned into an official Rotaract event?

Submit your idea to Dean Koci by sending him an e-mail or by calling him at 619-991-4088. Be sure you include the charity, when the event would take place and all necessary contact information. We look forward to receiving your inspiring ideas!
July Social: SD Symphony Summer Pops Series – Marvin at the Movies

July 28 (Saturday)
7:00 pm at Kansas City BBQ for food/drink, then walk over for 7:30 pm start

Our July Social: San Diego Symphony Summer Pops Series – Marvin at the Movies. With summer here we can sit out under the stars on Marina Park North peninsula and hear the show. The show is technically on the Marina Park South peninsula, but for this one we go and hang out on the other side. There will be Oscar winner Marvin Hamlisch playing some of his favorite movie music, from Gone With The Wind to The Way We Were.

If you are running late, meet us at the Marina Park North peninsula by taking the Embarcadero footpath which runs by the Manchester Hyatt and Seaport Village. If you have gotten to the Marriot Marina or the Convention Center, you have gone too far. The actual Summer Pops site is just behind the Convention Center by the Bay, on the Marina Park South peninsula. Please carpool there since parking will be tight.

Bring a blanket/chair and a jacket in case it gets cold. If people feel up to it, we can go out after. The show should be done around 10 pm.

You can check out the complete Summer Pops schedule by clicking here. The Broadway Rocks show with selections from Wicked, Rent, The Lion King, Tommy and Phantom of the Opera is on 8/3 and 8/4 at 7:30 pm. Seats are $20 and up.

If you have any questions, are running late, lost, or want to know if people are going out afterwards, call the social chair Ryan Crawford at 262-331-3587.

  • Looking for a Roommate?
A visiting Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar arrives to San Diego at the end of July, and he'll be here for a year (through July '08.) Our club has had great experiences in welcoming visiting members and friends of Rotary International. Furthermore, some of our members have welcomed such visitors into their homes for varying lengths of time, resulting in awesome friendships and cross-cultural bonds.
If you or someone you know would be a hospitable host to this new friend-to-be, please let us know. For more information and to express interest, please contact Bridget. Thank you!

  • Roommate Wanted
Looking one roommate to move into our 4 bedroom 3 bath house centrally located to everything. We are just off of Aero drive about 2 miles from the 15 and 8 and about a mile or so to the 163, 805, and 52. About the house: There is hardwood floors throughout the entire house, we have a full size laundry room with washer/dryer, 1 car garage, back yard with pool table great for entertaining which includes a gardener, living room with fireplace, great kitchen with dish washer and the house has a lot of character. Looking for 1 roommate, male or female with similar lifestyle; laid back down to earth person to share the house with. Rent is $600 (room 10x12.5) plus 1/4 utilities (electric, cable, wireless internet) which usually works out to be around $70 month depending.
