Next Meeting

Our next general meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 02, 2007 at 6:30 pm at Kansas City BBQ, 610 W. Market Street, Downtown San Diego.

Please note: There will be no general Rotaract meeting on December 19, 2006.
We will continue to meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the new year. Our first meeting in 2007 will take place on January 2nd. Please join us!

Our weekly newsletter will also take a short break. We'll see you back online on January 02, 2007.

Annual Rotaract Holiday Party

December 15 (Friday)

Felix Tinkov's house, 4752 Lotus Street

Come join the Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego for its annual holiday party. Once again, the very generous Felix Tinkov is hosting the party at his spacious house. There will be a white elephant gift exchange, so please bring your funniest gift under $20. The exchange will take place promptly at 10:00 pm. Also kindly bring your favorite beverage or snack to share with the group. Like always it will be memorable, we hope you can make it!

Important Last Minute Community Service

December 16 (Saturday)
12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Golden Hall, 202 C Street

Partying for a Purpose and The San Diego Coalition for the Homeless are partnering again this year to throw a party for the 5,000 homeless or poverty stricken children in San Diego. This is a wonderful cause to participate in and support. The actual event is Saturday the 16th of December at Golden Hall (Golden Hall Community Concourse, 202 C Street, San Diego. Doors will open at 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm). If you'd like to volunteer, please e-mail Dean Koci or call him at 619-991-4088.

Everyone is also encouraged to help wrap gifts the week prior. Open Monday, December 11 - Friday, December 15. 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm at 476 4th Avenue, Gaslamp.
Drop off toys! Help wrap presents! Please check out the website for more details. To volunteer, please e-mail Dean Koci or call him at 619-991-4088.

Welcome to Our New Member!

Rotaract is a great way to network, make friends, and help the community. Joining Rotaract is fun and easy. To become an official member you have to...
     – attend three general Rotaract meetings,
     – attend one community service event,
     – attend one social event,
     – attend one meeting of our sponsoring Rotary Club,
     – pay a one-time $28 enrollment fee, and membership dues of $30 twice a year.

Congratulations to our new member, who has recently fulfilled these requirements, thereby demonstrating a willingness to dedicate his time and energy to both Rotaract and the philantropic causes we support. The fact that you are joining our club shows that service is fun!

  • Looking for Holiday Gifts?
    Check out Butterfly Enterprises' variety of handmade items, all of which are created by students of the Monarch School. Butterfly Enterprises is a Junior Achievement Company owned and operated by the students of Monarch School in San Diego. All items can be customized with your choice of charms.     Founded in 1988, Monarch School and its committed team of teachers, administrators and volunteers is dedicated to providing homeless and at-risk children with an accredited education while caring for their basic needs. Today, more than 100 students between the ages of 7 and 18 are enrolled at Monarch School. For information about the school, please visit the school's website.

    Former Rotaract member Michelle Wright looking for roommate with no pets and a non-smoker to find a place with. She has all the furniture except for second bedroom. Ready to move ASAP.
