4th Annual Ace of Hearts

AoH Logo 2006
June 01 (Thursday)
7:00 - 10:00 pm
Martini Ranch, Shaker Room
$30 entrance fee

The 4th Annual Ace of Hearts is only two days away! Ace of Hearts is a Monte Carlo Casino night, this year hosted at the Shaker Room at Martini Ranch on June 1st from 7-10 pm. We play poker, craps, blackjack and more... and all for a worthy cause.

This Year's Beneficiary: Water for Children Africa
As a response to Rotary International's 2005-2006 mission, we are joining the fight for clean water as millions of children die each year from contaminated water. This year, our profits from the event will benefit an organization called Water for Children Africa. This organization helps the rural poor in Africa obtain safe water and develop cottage industries while also developing policy for water usage in villages and responsibilities for ongoing maintenance.

Tickets Available Online!

Rotary to Donate $1,000 to Ace of Hearts
Our wonderful parent club, the Downtown Breakfast Rotary, has committed to $1,000 to our Ace of Hearts event! Special thanks to President Maureen Eberle and the Community Services team for this generous donation and their constant support!

Ace of Hearts Only Two Days Away!
Let's spend these last few days doing anything we can to bring in donations, sell raffle tickets, and fill the house on June 1st! Let's try to beat our biggest donation, which was pulled in from last year's Jazz event and proudly hand over the monies collected to Water for Children Africa. Thank you all for your support of this great cause!
Bridging the World: Rotaract Preconvention Meeting 2006

June 08-11 (Thursday - Sunday)
Malmö, Sweden & Copenhagen, Denmark

During the first Rotaract Preconvention in the new century of Rotary International, you have the opportunity to experience two countries in one conference. It is going to be innovative, educational, entertaining and grand – come join your fellow Rotaractors in "Bridging the World".

Malmö and Copenhagen are cities with lots to offer – both as historical sites and as innovative communities with focus on present and future challenges. Furthermore, summer is a prime time to experience the southern parts of lovely Scandinavia.

We have planned a program offering you the best of what Rotaract has to offer in an international setting. We focus on network and capacity building – both for you as a young professional and as a part of Rotaract.

During the Rotary Convention June 11th -14th, we invite you to join us in Copenhagen for the Rotaract "Post-Preconvention activities."

Please explore our web site to get a detailed impression of what we plan for the Preconvention 2006.

Hope to see you in Beautiful Malmö and Wonderful Copenhagen!

Best Regards,
Anders Forslund & Kristine Binzer
Chairmen of the joint Danish and Swedish Rotaract Preconvention Committee

Lights, Camera, Action: USCC Rotaract Conference

July 19-23 (Wednesday - Sunday) or July 21-23 (Friday - Sunday)
UCLA
USCC Logo

The United States, Canada, and Caribbean (USCC) contains more than 400 Rotaract Clubs, working on a variety of projects on the basic principles of Rotary's "Service Above Self." The Lights, Camera, Action USCC Rotaract Conference is an amazing opportunity for our club to meet more of our Rotaract Family from the USA, Canada and the Caribbean! Anyone that attended last year's Chicago conference can attest to the level of energy, insight and plain ol' fun that was shared... and this year's LA conference will be no different!

The conference is from July 19-23rd and as you are welcome to attend the whole conference, our club will most likely be carpooling to LA Friday (July 21) and leaving Sunday afternoon (July 23). We are looking into accomodations as to make the registration amount less and will get more information to you ASAP. Please put this date on your calendar and get ready to truly experience Rotaract!

Events include various keynote speakers, workshops, group exercises, the Getty Center Museum, dinner at a Hollywood Mansion and of course... our own Los Angeles after-parties.

To find out more informaton, view USCC 2006 and to see pictures from last years' conference in Chicago, view Chicago Rotaract Conference 2005.

If you are interested, please email Bridget Johnson.
