| Next Meeting Our next general meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 07, 2005 at 6:30 pm at Kansas City BBQ, 610 W. Market Street, Downtown San Diego. Please note: There will be no meeting on May 31st! We are only meeting on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Please remember to bring your photos for our 2004-2005 Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego Scrapbook! We're looking forward to seeing you there! |

| Meet the Rotaract Board 2005-2006 On July 1st our Rotaract club will see new and energetic faces taking the lead. The newly appointed board was recognized at the May 17th general meeting. Please congratulate and welcome these individuals that are going to continue in the success of the Rotaract of years' past!

| Ace of Hearts Recap Ace of Hearts was another signature night for our club. The Sidebar was packed with friends and Rotarians and the tables were full all night long. Our staff of volunteers planned and executed as smoothly as we ever have and we owe special thanks to Felix for running a great show, to Mike Roeder for heading the most lucrative raffle ever and for organizing lots of great prizes, and to the technology team for world class design and PR work. And as always, a big thank you to Evan for managing the event seamlessly. Congrats and hearty thanks to everyone who participated in Ace of Hearts…from beginning to end. Preliminary counts show that this is going to be our biggest fundraiser by far! Please join us Tuesday to find out more about how much money we raised and make sure to be with us in June when we present a check to SD Hospice! Note: Raffle winners did not need to be present to win so please check the newsletter and our web site for information on winning ticket numbers. | Smile! It's Rotaract Scrapbook Time. Our Historian Michelle Prescott is in the process of compiling photos to include in the 2004-2005 Rotaract Club of Downtown San Diego scrapbook / photo album. If you have photos you would like to include in this book, please bring photos to the next meeting. We're trying to include photos taken from this Rotaract fiscal year only (Fall 2004-Spring 2005). Michelle will also be having a "scrapbook" day at her house. Please email Michelle or call her at 619-972-7288 if you are interested in joining, and we'll arrange a date. She'll provide the scrapbook materials, snacks and beverages, just bring photos and your creativity. |

| International Award Party @ The Bitter End June 09 (Thursday) 7:00 - 9:00 pm The Bitter End Upstairs Lounge (770 Fifth Avenue) Come celebrate with the Downtown Rotaract. On Thursday, June 9, we will be toasting the Rotary International "Best Service Event" award that we are receiving at the RI Convention in Chicago in June. Please join us to celebrate this accomplishment. We worked together to win the award so let’s all join in the fun together, too! The Bitter End is located on the corner of F Street and Fifth Avenue. Parking is available at Horton Plaza (3 hours free with validation). Dress Code for The Bitter End: no tennis shoes, t-shirts, shorts, sandals, or baseball caps. |
