Ace of Hearts Flyer Social

May 3 (Tuesday)
After our meeting
Downtown & Sidebar

Our next social event will be held after our meeting on Tuesday, May 3. We’re planning to do a "Flyer Blitz" of the downtown area and then rendezvous at Sidebar for Ciro’s pizza and a well-deserved drink!

Please RSVP to Geoff to volunteer to be a part of the fun. We will be creating teams of 4-5 people to hand out flyers on the streets, get them placed in bookstores, coffee houses, restaurant waiting areas, bulletin boards, etc.

This counts as your social event requirement if you are a prospect working on membership. And we should be done passing out flyers by 9pm…stay at Sidebar as long as you like!!

Get Your Tickets & Flyers

All members and prospects are challenged to sell 4 tickets each! Can you do it?
Come to tonight’s meeting where you’ll be able to get your tickets in hand. You can sign them out too…which means you can walk away with 4 tickets in hand and pay us after you’ve sold them. You can reserve your tickets ahead of time by emailing Bianca Mascorro.

We’ve got sales collateral too! Come and get your flyers that give the low down on the great night!

Attention All Members:
Please help us spread the word about Ace of Hearts by sending the page link to as many friends/family as you can think of, even if you know they can’t join us. We need page views for advertising purposes and we would like to beat the Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes 2004 total dollars raised online.

North County Rotaract Has Begun!!

The planning for launch of the new North County Rotaract club began April 27. Newly appointed Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary liaison, Tom Base, facilitated the first planning meeting and a number of Downtown Rotaractors who live and work in North County were in attendance. The first step toward becoming an official club will be to gather 15 members and there will be a full board to be elected in the next month or two. North County Rotaract meetings will be held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

If you live/work in North County or know someone who does and wants to get involved in Rotaract, this is a chance to be a founding member! Please contact Tom Base for more information or to express your interest in joining.

Rotaract & Rotary Trivia

What is the "4-Way Test"?

The "4-Way Test" was created by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor in 1932 as a means to save a company in depression-caused financial difficulties. This test became a guide for sales, production, advertising and all relations with dealers and customers, and the survival of the company was credited to this simple philosophy. The "4-Way Test" was adopted by Rotary in 1943 and has been translated into more than 100 languages and published in thousands of ways. The message should be known and followed by all Rotarians.

The test asks the following four questions:

"Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?"
