Our next general meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 6:30 pm at Kansas City BBQ, 610 W. Market Street, Downtown San Diego.

We're looking forward to seeing you there!
Congrats to Next Year's Board!

The nominations are in and this year's election will be nothing but a formality!! All four elected positions are running unopposed, so congratulations to your 2005-2006 core team:

President Andrea Espinoza
Vice President Bridget Johnson
Secretary Chantelle Swaby
Treasurer Carl Tiu

There are 8 appointed positions to be filled so if you would like to be on the board, please make sure that your dues are paid, that your membership requirements have been filled, and that you express your interest to Andrea and her team as soon as possible! This is a very strong group and they are surely going to pick talented people to support them in their offices. Apply for a board position so you can be part of the fun. You’ll be amazed at how rewarding this experience can be.

Professional Development

Last month, we were excited to have our KC BBQ Friend/Host & Rotary Liason, Martin Blair speak to us regarding choosing wisely as we invest & plan financially while we're young. If you have any questions about Martin's ideas, would like advice, or are seeking further sources of information, please email Bridget Johnson.

In addition to the infinite resources outside of out clubs, we have a wealth of resources inside Rotaract and Rotary. (This also applies to job-related inquiries, for those of you in transition periods right now!)

This month, our guest speaker will focus on an issue that has been & will always be important, but has surfaced more & more over recent years. Whether it's Enron, Martha Stewart or any other story, we could all name corporate scandals & situations that have made headlines recently. Business ethics is a hot topic, and we look forward to welcoming Mr. Jack Gilbert, Ed.D President of New Page Consulting, Inc, to address this subject and how it affects all of us.

Here are some starting points to get you thinking about the topic...

- 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2005

- Think we, "grown-ups," know it all? Check out how 6 year olds could teach their elders a thing or two about ethics...

- The Fast Company Ethics Monitor
