Happy Holidays from the Rotaract Board!

The year 2004 has been monumental for Rotaract with two outstanding presidents, amazing volunteer opportunities, new and energetic members, fun social outings and recently a killer Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes event.

The Rotaract Board would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a safe return from travels. We look forward to an even better 2005!

First General Meeting of 2005
(Rotary’s 100th year!)

Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes Hits a High Note!!!

The third annual Jazz for Juvenile Diabetes turned out to be our greatest triumph of the year! Initial numbers indicate that we raised 25% more dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and a lot of that money can be attributed to the online ticket purchasing and donation system we installed this year (great work by David Bradfield!). Donations can still be made on our web site if you missed the event but still feel like giving to the cause.

Felix Tinkov ran operations at Thin without breaking a sweat and Evan Papel did a fantastic job managing the event from planning stages to the encore song by Cabellero Verde Quintet. And Kerrith Gray’s father, Cameron, won the Grand Prize in the raffle…a United Airlines gift certificate good for travel anywhere in the USA (a $1500.00 value).

Every Rotaract member and prospect looked great, danced well into the night, and represented the club very well. Thanks to all who attended and even more to those who volunteered to promote and carry out a signature Rotaract moment.

Rotaract Holiday Party 2004

December 18 (Saturday)
8:00 pm
Felix Tinkov's House, 4752 Lotus Street, Ocean Beach

Happy Holidays, folks!

Let’s face it. This Holiday Season just wouldn’t be the same without our annual Rotaract Holiday Party. We’ve waited all year for this, so hopefully you’re prepared for a fun-filled evening of festive cheer, delicious home cooking, and a lively white elephant gift exchange!

All you need to do is:
~ RSVP by Monday, December 13
~ when you reply please select something to bring for the potluck
~ bring your beverage of choice
~ bring a new or used wrapped gift (valued at $20 or less, make it funny!) for the white elephant gift exchange (if you don’t know what this is, don’t worry…it doesn’t really involve elephants and you’ll get full details at the party.)
Don’t miss it!

Please RSVP by clicking here (evite)!

Registration is $60/member until December 31st and then $80/member after. All members will be responsible for their own travel expenses and food expenses. We will be staying at friend's and family's homes, so that we don't have to include lodging expenses.

International Rotary Conventions

Each May or June, Rotary International holds a worldwide convention to "stimulate, inspire and inform all Rotarians at an international level." The convention, which may not be held in the same country for more than two consecutive years, is the annual meeting to conduct the business of the association. The conventions are truly international events which are attended by 15,000 to 20,000 Rotarians and guests.
